I chose the lop rabbit as the character because the rabbit is considered a quiet animal, which matches the little girl's behaviour of being quiet, trying to escape and silently crying when she is experiencing family discord. The lop rabbit looks more docile than other breeds of rabbits, which brings out the character of the little girl.
